Types Of Bottled Water
|
Bottled water is a big business these days. More than ever, people are focused on health and fitness. Part of staying healthy is staying hydrated, and water is essential to survival and proper bodily function. There are many different types of bottled water to satisfy every need and preference. One category is purified water. Purified water may be called demineralized water as it does not contain any minerals. It is not advisable to drink purified water over a prolonged period of time as it lacks elements essential to health. Purified water can be used for cleaning, washing and drinking in times of emergency when nothing else is available.
Mineral water, on the other hand, contains plenty of minerals that may include silica, calcium, magnesium, zinc and many more. Mineral water may be sparkling or non-sparkling and includes brands like San Pellegrino, Perrier and Evian. The majority of mineral waters come from Europe and are imported to the United States making them more expensive than most domestic waters. There are certain requirements for bottled water to be classified as mineral. For example, it must contain a minimum of 250 parts per million TDS or total dissolved solids and no minerals can be added.
You may find minerals have been added to spring water and other types of bottled water made for drinking. One common mineral added to bottled water is fluoride, which is important for strong, healthy teeth. Speaking of spring water, this is water that derives from a natural spring. The water may be transferred via aqueduct from the underground spring to the collection area from where the water is transported to the manufacturing facility for filtration and bottling. And that's not all there is when it comes to bottled water, either. There are a few trendy new additions to the world of water on store shelves these days.
Vitamin enhanced water is quite popular these days. This water is usually fruit flavored and enhanced with various nutrients. Another one of the newest types of bottled water is oxygenated water. This water has around 10 times more than the normal oxygen content and may also be enhanced with minerals. You can also find electrolyte enhanced water like Smart Water in stores. Today's consumer has more choices than ever before when it comes to bottled water, making adequate hydration an easy and pleasurable task to fulfill.
